October changed my life

October has never been a favorite month of mine. Its not very warm in Utah, most of the pretty fall leaves are falling off showing that the sign of winter is drawing near, and Halloween well... that holiday just creeps me out besides the candy of course. Little did I know that October 2012 would change my life! For many weeks I had been really excited to watch the October conference. The morning of conference I woke up in my dorm room in Hawaii and found my self scrolling through the good Ole FB when random statuses ranged from "Cant wait to be a missionary", "Looks like there are going to be more then one missionary in the fam", "I love Sister Missionarys"this would normally strike people as odd but my brain only being awake for five minutes or so I just thought people were having some good inspiration that morning and that they were getting ready for conference later that morning. Next I texted my boyfriend Jaren and the first thing he wrote in CAPS was can you believe the announcement!! Confused I said "I don't know what your talking about." at the start of conference President Monson announced that the age for Missionarys had changed for girls from 21 to 19! WHAT! how could this happen? Conference doesn't start tell 10:00! Jaren brought me back to reality with yes it does start at 10:00 Utah time your going to college in Hawaii which is four hours behind. After getting off the phone with him I started crying because  I couldn't believe that this had happened. I would like to say that I decided to go on a mission right then, but I did not. I prayed a ton and read my scriptures and finally came to the decision that a mission is the right thing for me at this time. I will be serving in the Canada Montréal mission French speaking and this is my video of me opening my call.
